Official comment
Currently, edit permissions on shared folders include the ability to delete the folder. When this is done, the delete is synced to shared users, but the owner's copy of the folder is not deleted. Only the owner can delete folders from their own system.
We plan to add more granular permissions to shared folders and files in the future. There is no date set for these enhancements yet.
