Official comment
By default Syncplicity dsiplays a temporary message on your desktop when a file is updated. You can turn this on or off in the Settings page of the client.
There isn't an option to generate email when a file is updated in the current product. One way to see what's changed is to use the News Feed menu on my.syncplicity.com. You can filter the results there to updates only in certain folders as well, to check for updates you care most about.
