Encryption

Wondered how data is encrypted with syncplicity. Is it encrypted at the client, or only once it reaches the cloud server?

All Syncplicity endpoints communicate through encrypted sessions with all Syncplicity services. All uploaded files are encrypted when stored in Syncplicity's public cloud servers.

On mobile apps, if files are downloaded to the device they are stored encrypted, except for Android devices using SD cards for storage. There is a policy available to prevent storing files on Android SD cards.

Desktop clients encrypt the data in transit, but store it locally in normal, unencrypted folders.
