Use the desktop app for most of your syncing activity. The web interface is a convenience interface - it allows quick file upload if needed for small files. Large files transfers in the web interface can be problematic due to browser and session timeouts, and other issues. Use the Mac client to transfer large files by placing them in a folder already being synced, or adding the folder where they are currently located to the list of folders you are syncing.
