Add a folder to Syncplicity

Using Windows Explorer, you can do the following operations with your SyncDrive folders:

  • Create a new folder in your SyncDrive, and then you can fill it with content and share with other users.
  • Rename a folder

Create a folder

You can create a folder in SyncDrive using any possible method, for example, right-click menu, toolbar menu, command line, or you can also drag any folder existing on your system into your SyncDrive.

Note. Creating folders is only supported when the Syncplicity desktop client is online.

To create a folder:

  1. Open your SyncDrive in Windows Explorer.
  2. Right click in the panel and select New → Folder on the shortcut menu. 
    The new folder appears in the SyncDrive.

Rename a folder

Using Windows Explorer, you can rename any folder existing in your SyncDrive.

Note. Renaming folders is only supported when the Syncplicity desktop client is online.
Renaming root folders shared with you, even with read-write permissions, is not allowed.

To rename a folder:

  1. Open your SyncDrive in Windows Explorer.
  2. Select a folder and rename it.
