When you first install the Syncplicity app for iPhone, you are prompted to grant access to your device’s Location Services. If you grant access, the app displays a background image based on your current location. In the United States, the image is based in your state. Otherwise, it displays an image based on your country.
The image is refreshed every few minutes, displaying an image from a set of images for that location. The images may be of specific cities or well-known landscapes. These images are refreshed periodically.
For the United States, there are different images for each state.
Initially, the location feature may not be as robust in other countries; however, images are continuously being updated as more locations are added.
The location feature is dependent on you device’s Location Services, which determines your location using crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot locations. At any time, you can go to your device’s settings and disable the Syncplicity app access.
If you do not allow the app to access your location, an image from a default set of images is shown. The default image is also shown should you be in one of the countries not supported.
The Syncplicity app displays location-based images for each of the following countries:
- Czech Republic
- Great Britain
- Hong Kong
- New Zealand
- Saudi Arabia
- South Africa
- South Korea
- UAE (Dubai)
- United States (image based on state)
