For Syncplicity Enterprise Edition users, Secure Shared Files extends and enhances the capabilities of Syncplicity Secure Shared Links. The feature offers an added layer of protection to sensitive documents even after they have left the enterprise.
Recipients of Secure Shared Files get a protected copy of the file. Access to the file is restricted to intended recipients only, and the actions which may be performed on the document are controlled by the sender and the organization’s policies. The Syncplicity Secure Shared File feature protects the file so that it remains protected even after users download it, copy it or email it to other people.
For details about this feature, see the About Shared Links and Secure Shared Files article.
For details about specific releases, their key features and known limitations, see the Release Notes article.

Downloading the plug-in
The first time you attempt to open a secure shared file, you are prompted to install the plug-in or viewer if you are a Windows or Mac desktop user or install the Syncplicity app if using the iPad. In either case, you can also click here to download the plug-in.
NOTE: Should the installation process be interrupted, you can run the C:\Program Files\EMC IRM \Syncplicity\Syncplicity.Client.IRM.WindowsApp.exe program. Otherwise, if using single-sign-on, you need to log in with your email address and password every time you open the document.
NOTE: If using Windows Chrome to download a protected PDF document from the My Syncplicity web site, Chrome may attempt to open the PDF file. This may result in a grey screen with a “Failed to load PDF document” message. The Chrome PDF plugin viewer is not able to read protected Syncplicity files. You must open this file with Adobe and the Syncplicity Plug-in for PDF.
