Updating a read-only file

Read-only file download error message

A file is modified in a read-only folder.

Applicable systems: Desktop clients

Description

User has modified the local file, but it can't be uploaded because the user lacks permission. Someone else uploads a different version, and a desktop client tries to download the file and fails to overwrite the local file as user changes would be lost.

Possible remedies

To save the current local file (older version), move the file, with write access, to a different folder on your local system.
