Logging does not work after upgrade to Storage Connector 3.2 or newer

Problem

After upgrade to Storage Connector 3.2 or newer versions logging may stop working. This issue will only affect organizations who have modified the logger.xml file on their Storage Connector instances.

Cause

Storage Connector 3.x series offers automated configuration migration. Currently, it does not support log settings migration. If you have modified the logger.xml file before the upgrade (e.g. from 2.x), your settings are preserved and saved to /etc/syncp-storage/logger.xml.rpmsave; although, they will not work.

Solution

Because the settings in the old logger.xml file cannot be migrated automatically, you must reapply them manually. Use the information from logger.xml.rpmsave to recreate your settings in the new logger.xml file.
