About Syncplicity app location feature

When you first install the Syncplicity app for iPhone, you are prompted to grant access to your device's Location Services. When access is granted, the app displays a background image based on your current location.

  • In the United States, the image is based in your state.
  • In other countries, the image is based on your country.

The location feature is dependent on you device's Location Services, which determines your location using crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot locations. The image is refreshed every few minutes, displaying an image from a set of images for that location. The images may be of specific cities or well-known landscapes. These images are refreshed periodically.

To disable the Syncplicity app location access, go to your device's settings and disable this feature. If you do not allow the app to access your location, an image from a default set of images is displayed. The default image is also shown should you be in one of the countries not supported.
