This policy allows admins to control whether or not users can open Microsoft Office documents in Microsoft Office Online on desktop clients.
Prerequisites
The following prerequisites must be met prior to using this policy:
- The storage connector setting must be enabled for this policy to work, see Microsoft Office Online integration (Admin → Settings).
- Windows client 6.1.0 or higher.
Policy
The following settings are available for the Microsoft Documents Policy:
- Allow users to open Microsoft Office documents in Microsoft Office Online ('Open in Office Online' commands are available on desktop).
- Do not allow users to open Microsoft Office documents in Microsoft Office Online ('Open in Office Online' commands are hidden).
By default this policy is enabled. When this policy is enabled, the user has an additional menu option called Syncplicity → Open in Office Online. For details, see Open Office documents in Office Online.
